Come to Know Mrs. Diane Nader
I started scouting as a Brownie in the Girl Scouts when I was in second grade, right here in Jacksonville. I went all the way through the program, earning the Gold Award during my senior year in high school. Here are some other highlights:
At age 16, I was one of 6 girls selected from our country to attend "Jubilee" in Somerset, England. "Jubilee" was the 75th anniversary of Girl Guiding, which is the european version of Girl Scouts. I was also a member of the Senior Planning Board as the editor of "SCOPE" - a newsletter containing information on upcoming events and other news stories.
At age 17, I was the Arts and Crafts Director for "Smile" Camp. This is a day camp run by high school girls, with an advisor, for children with cerebal palsy. I was also President of the Senior Planning Board that year.
After I graduated from high school, I was a junior troop leader for two years. I maintained my membership for more than 20 years.
Currently, this is my second year in Cub Scouting. Last year, I was the Tiger Den Leader and this year I am the Wolf Den Leader. I enjoy finding fun things for the boys to do.
